Makeup:
Blush or Bronzer?
Bronzer
Lip gloss or Lipstick?
lipstick, only because I hate it when my hair gets stuck in my lip gloss, but I prefer how lip gloss looks!
Eye Liner or Mascara?
Definitely eye liner, but I hate how it looks when I wear it without mascara cos my eyelashes are so light!
Foundation or Concealer?
foundation
Neutral or Colour Eye Shadow?
Neutral, you will rarely ever see me wear colours on my eyes!
Pressed or Loose Eye Shadows?
pressed
Brushes or Sponges?
brushes
Nails:
OPI or China Glaze?
I've never actually used any China Glaze nail polish before, shock horror! I've also only ever used four OPI nail varnishes, and they're the mini versions, ha! So I'm not sure
Long or Short?
long, but mine don't grow and they're so brittle :(
Acrylic or Natural?
I love naturally nice, healthy, long nails, however I'm so into my nail art and stuff that I will always wear acrylic nails because my nails won't grow without breaking off straight away!
Brights or Darks?
hmm, probably darks, but I do love my new nude colour 'Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Lychee!' it's gorgeous
Flower or no Flower?
depends on the design, I quite like creating my own flowers out of acrylic
Body:
Perfume or Body Spray?
I love getting nice perfumes, but I'm so fussy and I'm not so fussy with body sprays. So I guess my answer is body spray!
Lotion or Body Butter?
definitely body butter. I love all body butters - literally - and I rarely ever find a nice lotion that doesn't make me feel greasy and oily for a while after...y'know?
Body Wash or Soap?
Body wash, every time.
Lush or The Body Shop?
This is really hard because I like them for different things...
I like Lush for things like bath bombs and shower gel (especially the seasonal collection: snow fairy shower gel), but not really anything else. I like The Body Shop for things for my face, like make up remover, moisturiser etc.
Fashion
Jeans or Sweat Pants?
Jeans! I literally live in jeans when I'm going out, then I wear pyjamas all day if I'm staying in, I'm so lazy..
Long Sleeve or Short?
I like wearing short sleeve tops, with long sleeved jumpers and cardigans over the top, although I've started to buy a hell of a lot of long sleeve tops recently. I don't know, maybe I'm changing?
Dresses or Skirts?
Oh gosh this really isn't me...I guess dresses, because skirts never look good with anything on me! sobsob
Stripes or Plaid?
yuckyuckyuck next question!
Flip flops or Sandals?
Okay, I have a really weird thing about my toes. My whole family has masssssssive big toes, and I'm really paranoid about them so I don't really wear either. If I really had to pick I'd choose flip flops cos you can just whack them on and go
Scarves or Hats?
I go through phases of liking both so I'm not sure...probably scarves, no hats, scarves, scats?
Studs or Dangly Earrings?
Studs. I love large pearl studs in my first lobe piercings then smaller pearls in my second lobe piercings.
Necklaces or Bracelets?
Necklaces, because I can wear them for ages without taking them off or playing with them. Bracelets because they're prettier and mean more to me.
Heels or Flats?
flats.
Hair
Curly or Straight?
Curly...but I love my hair wavy at the moment
Bun or Ponytail?
bun
Bobby Pins or Butterfly Clips?
Bobby pins
Hair Spray or Gel?
Hair Spray, but with a pump rather than just a spray...if you know what I mean.
Long or Short?
longlonglong! I had my hair cut a while back, they cut off 4 inches of split ends and crap! I haven't used any heat on it since except in the shower and occasionally using my hair dryer in the hope of it growing quickly. It hasn't. Any tips?!
Colour?
Mine is currently a light auburn/gingeryish colour. I LOVE it so no hating cos it won't be acknowledged!
Side Sweep Bangs/Fringe or Full Bangs/Fringe?
Side sweep! Why oh why did I cut mine into a full fringe?! I can't do anything with my hair now!
Up or Down?
I prefer the look of mine down, but I wear it up almost all the time to keep it out my face, and because I have to for work!
Random
Rain or Shine?
rain, because it makes my hair look so nice!
Summer or Winter?
Winter, because I hate sun cream but if I don't wear factor 50 I will get sun burned so badly.
Fall or Spring?
Fall/Autumn
Chocolate or Vanilla?
Vanilla, although everyone would say I prefer chocolate.
Hey Guys! Sorry I've been away so long, stress stress stress! I thought you could do with getting to know me better so I hope you found this interesting. Love you all lots, Maisie xxx

As many of you may know I've recently done a Soap & Glory haul.
![]() |
| This is a picture of my parcel full of all my new treats I bought from Soap & Glory! |
I haven't started writing reviews yet as I've had other things on my mind and I didn't want to give you just a brief review, I wanted to give you a good review.
So within the next hour or so you'll have access to a new review of some Soap & Glory products that I've been using long enough for me to review. I have stuck to my words in a previous post that I started writing them to give you my "first impression" review so I hope you enjoy reading them!
All the products have been paid for with my own money, this post is not sponsored.

Personal: Meet Trouble
This is my cute little bunny Trouble.
![]() |
| This is the first picture ever taken of him! |
I didn't actually name Trouble, my brother and his wife "suggested" it, but everyone just carried on naming him it so I guess I had to follow along so I didn't confuse him. It turned out though that Trouble definitely is trouble.
![]() |
| These were my blueberries that he actually took off of me and ate himself. |
I was just about to start taking some photos of my Soap and Glory products so I can start reviewing them when SOMEONE jumped up and interrupted.
Soap & Glory products may not be tested on animals, but it looks like an animal was about to test them in these photos.
![]() |
| He usually acts as though he's camera shy...not here though! |
No but seriously guys, I promise to catch up with soap&glory reviews later on today!
...The photos however may not be very good unless I can be bothered to go out and get some new stuff for the background. They've become stained with orange and green from Trouble eating carrots and lettuce. He's also torn it a bit and I've made some notes on it by accident ...oops!

Views & Opinions please!
I have one more favour to ask of you guys!
I have recently done a tutorial on how to do "cupcake nails"
I would really appreciate any feedback about it - did you understand it? did you like the design? would you like more tutorials on things like this?
IF you would like a new tutorial I'm thinking about doing a vintage floral pattern that's inspired by a video on youtube by cutepolish
I haven't perfected it yet, but I would love to show you how to do it once I've got a bit better at the design!
New Stuff!
Hi guys!
Just keeping you up to date a bit...
I haven't done any (except one) reviews of my Soap & Glory stuff yet for a few reasons:
1)The majority of the stuff I actually had just ordered and hadn't tried out yet
2) The stuff I did have I didn't want to review before I could write an introductory post to all of my soap & glory stuff with a picture of all of it together. (I'm a bit OCD about stuff like that...)
3) I'm so behind with coursework I didn't want to start doing other things before I do my coursework!
What I will be doing now I've received my parcel full of soap & glory stuff is start reviewing the stuff I've been using for a while now so I can actually do a proper review of it. I'll probably be posting one a day, although it may start tomorrow.
For the stuff I haven't had before so I can't yet review I'll be starting to write posts about each of them without actually publishing them yet. By doing this I'll be able to tell you what I think of them RIGHT NOW and then review what I think of them after using them for a few weeks!
So that's everything you need to know right now. This was a bit of a boring post for today but I just thought you'd like to know what was going on so you can keep coming back for more soap&glory product reviews!
Ciao - Maisie♥

Tutorial: Cupcake nails!
Cupcake nails!
I love these nails, I think they're super cute. You can do just one cupcake nail as your accent nail, or do all your nails as cupcakes! Here are examples of both:
![]() |
| Picture A |
![]() |
| Picture B |
There are slight differences between the two styles of cupcakes, but the way you create them is the same!
Here's how you do it
*You have to be very patient for this design, each layer must be completely dry or you'll end up sporting a pretty mess on your nails*
Step one: Paint your nails with a base coat. In 'picture A' I used Nail Paint by Barry M in "Blueberry Ice-cream" and in 'Picture B' I used Glitter Nail Paint by Barry M in "Amethyst". I also add a top coat here but it's not necessary. I used Miss Sports "Glossy Tech" for my top coat.
![]() |
| step one |
Step two (optional): IF your base coat is quite a dark colour you'll want to give yourself white tips over the colour. This is so the colour of your cupcake cases pop. I did white tips on 'Picture B' because it was over the top of a busy glitter colour, I did not do white tips on 'Picture A' as the base colour was a very light blue. To give myself nail tips I used Nail Paint by Barry M in "matte white".
![]() |
| step two |
Step three: Using a fine nail art brush create stripes on the white tips (or where white tips would be). I do this by doing stripes next to each other because I find it easier to get them more even, however you can give yourself coloured tips and then just draw stripes on those. In 'picture A' I used Nail Paint by Barry M in "berry ice-cream" and Gelly Hi-Shine nail paint by Barry M in "plum". In 'picture B' I used Gelly Hi-Shine nail paint by Barry M in "plum" and "Dragon Fruit".
![]() |
| step three & four |
Step four: Using a large dotting tool (or a steady hand and a fine brush) paint on some icing. You want to curve it at the top so it looks like the top of a cupcake, and I suggest making it look like it's dripping down the side of the cupcake cases! For this I used Nail Paint by Barry M in "matte white".
Step five: Apply a top coat to one nail at a time so that you can stick things onto them. Using a cocktail stick I picked up a nail art gem and stuck it at the top of my cupcakes to make a "cherry". Then every cupcake needs sprinkles! You can either use a dotting tool and 3 or 4 other colours to create your own sprinkles (picture A) or use caviar beads in different colours to give yourself a more 3D look (picture B)
*I found that if I added a top coat over caviar beads the colour of them bled, so be careful!*

| step five |
and you're done!

Barry M: Magnetic Nail Paint
Magnetic Nail Paint
This was the first product I actually tried from Barry M, which is surprising because when I first got this I wasn't very impressed with it. When my order from boots came (this isn't Barry M's fault!) the magnet from the star shaped one wasn't attached! I got a full refund but to this day I'm still not able to use the star one because I don't want to buy the same colour nail polish again just so I can get the magnet! Rant over.
When I first got this product I was excited because my friend who's also Barry M crazy had done it on her nails in the horizontal striped magnet (I don't own this shape!) and I loved it. It looked really nice on her purely because she has really nice long healthy natural nails, but I thought the nail varnish looked so pretty I wanted to give it a go. At this point I had acrylic nails too so I though "ooo it might look nice on my unnatural long nails!" I was wrong... on my first go I couldn't get the magnet to make the pattern over my whole nail. The magnet kept touching my nails and ruining the pattern in the wet nail polish, it would only make the pattern in the middle of the nail etc. so I gave up for a few weeks.
After that I decided I'd watch a video on YouTube to see how they did it, and a lot of the videos on there they had slender nails that would fit under the magnet anyway so I became a bit disheartened until I came across a video of a girl with quite wide nails - just like my own! She used the magnet like normal but rotated it from side to side - duh! I couldn't believe I hadn't thought of doing that, it seemed so obvious!
After I tried that I loved it. My only worry is, is if I got a pattern that shouldn't be stretched round a nail it might not work so well with rotating it across my wide nails - but the two I have that at the moment definitely work!
The nail polish gives you a really nice even pattern across your nail, and it's much easier than doing proper nail art (although I love doing that too!). The finish look of the nail varnish is really pretty. The colours are metallic and I think they look quite nice, even without a magnetic pattern on them. I think they only need one coat, but the instructions say to apply a base coat of it then apply another to use for the pattern so I haven't tried doing a pattern without doing a base coat of it so I couldn't comment on that.
Overall I think this is a great product and I think you'd enjoy the patterns it makes!
*One point to mention is that on the boots website I couldn't find out what the magnets were that came with each nail varnish, so you may have to do some research if you're ordering online, these were just pot luck I didn't know what I was going to get - only the colours!*
The colours I own are: "magnetic burgundy", "magnetic dark silver" and "magnetic blue".
Favourite colour? "Magnetic blue"
Best thing about this product? Once you get your head around how to use it you can make really pretty patterns really easily!
Worst thing about this product? Unless you're really good at nails you're probably not going to be able to pick up this product and get perfect nails each time, practice makes perfect!
Overall rating? 4.4 / 5!

Barry M: Glitter Nail Paint!
Glitter Nail Paint
I usually find that glitter nail polishes are really annoying, you have to put about five coats on before it looks nice, and/or they've very hard to spread around evenly. This isn't the strictest of truths with Barry M's glitter nail paint collection though!
Obviously you have to learn how to apply glitter nail paint before you go ahead and say somethings rubbish because it's not telling you what to do. I find that glitter nail polish is one of the ones you have to be strictest with and you have to really concentrate on what you're doing with it.
If you didn't know the first layer of glitter nail polish (of any brand) needs to be dabbed on, not painted on like normal nail polishes! This doesn't mean layer it on so it's really thick and gloopy, just dab it on where you see glitter on your brush so that you know you have an even amount of glitter on your nails for your base coat of glitter.
Even after I learned that, I still found some nail polishes hard to work with - especially those with larger hexograms in it. Barry M's glitter nail paint is much easier to work with, in my opinion.
All in all this is the best glitter nail polish I have ever used and it's great if you want to have a glittery accent nail or two! It's even great on all your fingers if that's what you want to do!
Barry M's collection of glitter polish is a large variety for the types of glitter it contains. They have "shimmery" glitter, different sized hexograms, strands of glitter, specks of glitter and a combination of them.
The colours I own are:
- "Pink Sapphire" which contains silver stands, small silver hexograms, very very tiny specks of pink glitter and medium pink hexograms with a clear base coat.
- "Ruby" which contains very very tiny specks of black glitter, some medium sized black hexograms and some larger red hexograms.
- "Amethyst" which contains turquoise small hexograms, pink small hexograms, purple small hexograms, silver small hexograms, black small hexograms, turquoise tiny tiny specks of glitter and black tiny tiny specks of glitter.
Favourite Colour? "amethyst" it's so pretty and busy that even after just one coat of it you're pretty much ready to add a top coat and go!
Best thing about this product? they're just so good!
Worst thing about this product? As with all glitter nail polishes they can be a bit of a pain to get off, but not terrible.
Overall rating? 4.6 / 5

Barry M: Textured Nail Paint
Textured Nail Paint
This is one of the collections from Barry M which I wouldn't recommend it to a friend unless they asked me for something specifically like this. I'm not raving about this. If you have read my review on the Ice Cream Collection you'll have learned that I don't really like pastel colours...especially on my gross short nails that I have at the moment. So that's one thing I already don't like about this product.
Another problem I have with this is that it is very hard to remove this product. You can be rubbing your nails with nail varnish remover for ages and won't see much of a difference. The cotton wool pads will get caught in the textured aspect of it and it feels as though you've literally glued sand to your nails.
However, saying this I have spoken to one of my friends who is also a bit of a Barry M nail paint geek and she says that she loves this collection and that it's probably her favourite collection because she likes how unique it looks. She has also said that she would love it if Barry M had the textured nail paint in slightly darker colours but that she loves the pastel on her toes.
So I gave this product a go on my toes. I don't usually spend much time giving myself a pedicure because I never have my toes out - I hate my toes! However I did quite like this product on my toes.
Overall I'll probably have this product until it starts going gloopy because I don't really like the colours, I don't like how it feels like you've stuck sand/salt to your nails and I don't like the fact it takes ages to get one nail of polish off. Another negative about this collection is that I would have thought that it would be really obvious you've got textured nail paint on however - for me - it just looked like I'd painted really messily.
I'm not sure whether this is just my personal preference, and I'm sure that if you like things that are different then you'll like these. Maybe I'm missing something? Is there a certain technique to putting on this nail varnish to make it nicer?
The colours I own are: "Ridley Road", "Kingsland Road" and "Atlantic Road".
Favourite Colour? "Atlantic Road".
Best thing about this product? I quite like it on my toes!
Worst thing about this product? I really really really hate the amount of effort it takes to take it off!
Overall rating? 2 / 5 - they look pretty in the bottles, but I don't like them for much else, sorry Barry M!

Help!
Okay hi guys, just a quick note before I sign off!
I really need a new make up remover. I currently just wash my face with Soap and Glory Face Soap and Clarity but that obviously doesn't get the make up off my eyes.
I really need some suggestions, I prefer natural stuff for my skin as my eyes can get sensitive but just suggest ANYTHING! I'll give anything a go if I like the sound of it.
Signing off now, speak to you tomorrow, kisses xxxx

Barry M: Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint
Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint
If I had been asked to pick my favourite collection which - in my opinion - can't be beat it would be this.
If you've ever had a gel manicure you'll know how lovely and smooth it is - but it damages your nails because of the UV light you have to use to set it. No longer!
Barry M offers you a nail varnish that, after one coat, gives you a look of having a gel manicure!
I must advise that you wear a base coat with this because wear it's got quite a thick consistency it can stain your nails quite easily - but it's definitely worth it!
I've never lovely a nail varnish more than I've loved these and I am currently working my way towards getting the whole collection! I need pennies :(
The colours I own are: "Watermelon", "Blackberry", "Dragon Fruit", "Pomegranate" and "Plum".
fruity and delicious colours!
Favourite Colour? Oh gosh! I don't know...I do love them all. I think maybe "plum" is my favourite...but it's only by a tiny fraction.
Best thing about this product? Everything!!!!
Worst thing about this product? The same as before, the drying time. I've been using this for all of them which makes it sound like a large amount of time and it's not! It's the same amount of time, maybe a little more, than average nail varnishes.
Overall rating? 4.9 / 5!

Barry M: Ice Cream Collection!
Nail Paint Ice Cream Collection!
As you may know Barry M have a number of collections. One of these is the "ice cream collection". This is a fairly recently collection - possibly the most recent at the time of me writing this review.
I don't usually like the pastel look on my nails. I think it's because my nails are so short at the moment because they keep breaking off it makes them look like I've just coloured my nails in with chalk and it looks as though it stands out a bit too much for my short nails. However, as far as pastel nail polishes go these are pretty good. They have the same pros and cons as the average nail paint (as it is just the same stuff, just a different colour collection!).
In this collection I have all the different colours that were available in my local "drug store"...I'm not sure if that's what we call "superdrug" and "boots" here but it's what American's call their local shop that sells these things - please someone give me the actual name!
These colours are: "Strawberry Ice Cream", "Lemon Ice Cream", "Berry Ice Cream" and "Blueberry Ice Cream".
Favourite Colour? I don't really have a favourite, I like them all equally as I'm not really a pastel person!
Best thing about this product? It's encouraged me to like pastels a bit more - although they're still definitely not my favourite! & They also have VERY good coverage, I only had to use one coat - two made no difference it was opaque on the first go.
Worst thing about this product? The same as the nail paint - I'm impatient so the drying time is a bit long for my liking.
Overall Rating? 4.2 / 5 (It would definitely be higher if I liked pastel colours!)

Barry M Nail Paint!
Lets start with their average Nail Paint.
The number of colours that the Barry M collection has in just normal "nail paint" is the largest of all the collections. The best thing that I find about these products when you go out to buy them is that they're true to their colour. When you see the bottle that is the colour that you'll have on your nail, it won't go darker or lighter.
You will have to apply a bottom coat with these nail varnishes - especially for the darker colours - as they are likely to stain your nails if you have the nail paint on for a few days. However, I don't find this as much of a negative point because I apply a base coat of strengthening nail varnish anyway because I have really thin nails at the moment (don't wear acrylics!!!)
Sometimes you will need around two coats to get it's true colour on your nails, but you can quite often get away with just one coat on your nails especially for the really light colours.
I own the colours: "Red Wine", "Coral", "Black", "Spring Green", "Dusky Mauve", "Fuchsia", "Matte White", "Bright Purple" and "Mint Green".
Favourite colour? definitely Dusky Mauve. It's a sort of light chocolate brown colour with a subtle purple shimmer in it!
Best thing about this product? It's very true to it's colour.
Worst thing about this product? I'm quite impatient so the drying time can get a bit long after a while!
Overall rating? 4.8 / 5

Barry M Nails!
Barry M Nail Paint is probably my all time favourite beauty product. Their range of colours and funky different types of nail paint is huge. The only floor to Barry M Nail Paint is that it does take a long time to dry, however, the finished look it leaves is amazing. I rarely ever feel the need to add a top coat for the purpose of "shine" as opposed to adding a top coat for the purpose of keeping it looking nice for as long as possible.
My Barry M Collection is quite large compared to the average persons (obviously nail art specialists etc. will have huge amounts more) so I've got a good idea of how these products work and what their pro's and con's are.
The photographs above and below show my whole Barry M Nail Paint collection.

Soap & Glory's "Face Soap and Clarity"
I have been using Soap & Glory's Face Soap and Clarity for around about two weeks now. This doesn't seem like very long at all but it's enough time to write a genuine review with no bias on this product because you can see the differences it makes within one use!
Soap & Glory describe this as "A high-tech, gentle non-drying foaming facial wash, formulated with complexion-friendly, easy rinse surfactants and special SUPERFRUIT™ PLUM skin brightening complex."
To use this product you need make sure your face and neck is damp. I suggest using warm water so that it's not a harsh temperature on your skin. *However if you have oily skin washing your face once or twice a week with cold water is good too!*
Get a small amount of Soap & Glory's Face Soap and Clarity and just start massaging it into your face!
It foams gently so it's much easier to control so it's not dripping everywhere or getting foam in your eyes or mouth like a lot of other face washes do!
The pink beads in the face soap aren't harsh and scratchy like a lot of face washes have, they're gentle. However, they're not so gentle that they feel like they're not doing their job. And they leave your skin feeling well and truly exfoliated and feeling healthy.
After one use of this stuff I could tell a difference. It definitely wakes your skin up and gives it a lovely glowing look to it. After two weeks my problematic skin still isn't perfect but it's a lot less oily in the T-Zone.
The scent of this is a fresh fruity smell, with a hint of mint. I'm not sure if this is the official scent but this is what I can smell! (And sometimes things don't smell like what they're supposed to!)
I always found that with some other cleansers that my skin was always left feeling tight. This isn't the case for "Face Soap & Clarity"!
I can't find any faults with this product therefore I give it a 5/5!
